Have you really spent any time reading the owner's manual?

1.Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.
    2. Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

At this point, you should e-mail the techs at the support section of the Canon website and explain your problem in detail including anything you've tried so far.

There is two ways to view your "taking picture" with the LCD and with the viewfinder, you can shut the LCD off to save battery power and use the viewfinder and that is what I think has happened. a touch of the DISP button and it will switch from the LCD to the viewfinder. here is a diagram

With you saying the LCD is working for functions but not for taking pictures this is what I suspect is the problem.

My new Canon G11, purchased in August,2010: 1) The camera cord (to load photos from camera to computer) is no longer interfacing, but the card works (I don't think it is the software as it malunctions on...

It sounds to me like one or more of the wires in the cord has broken, or there is a problem with the USB port on the computer. Try swapping to the other ports to see if the problem goes away before going forward.

If the problem is present on all ports and the camera is still under warranty, I would suggest contacting Canon directly and let them solve the problem.

You could also try purchasing / borrow a cable that fits if you want to save time without a camera / dealing with Canon.

Good luck!

Canon powershot g11 was taking photos and

Hi,

I highly recommend that you instead consider using a card reader to move the photos or videos to your computer. Card reader's do not require software (although Windows 98 and earlier may require drivers), are very inexpensive, are much faster downloading files from the camera, do not use the camera's batteries during the download, and are much less prone to file corruption of the photos during the download.Really, it would be better for the camera user if one of these was included with the camera instead of the cable and bundled software. You place the camera's card in the reader, plug the reader into the USB port, and your computer sees it as a hard drive. You simply copy/paste or drag/drop your photos onto your hard drive. For this simplicity, most professional photographers utilize card readers exclusively. You'll save yourself a lot of heartache if you convert to using one of these. Also make sure that you get a reader that is clearly stated capable of reading your card, particularly if you use SD-HC, XD, CF, or MS cards.

Thank you!

How do O get to the RAW setting on my G11

Once you have the camera turned on and ready to shoot, press the "FUNC SET" button (the middle button on the dial next to the screen). Then scroll the menu all the way down to the last option to the "Resolution" Option. Once in here, scroll right until you see the "RAW" option, and press the "FUNC SET" button once again to set it. When you next take a photo, it will save a copy in JPG and one in RAW format. Hope this helps!

Our new front load washing machine "walks"

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you hav removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.
