IF YOU, STILL SUBSCRIBE DIRECTV, YOU MAY GO TO THE MENU, USING THEIR CLICKER AND GO TO THE PART OF MENU, WHERE YOU CAN CHOOSE TV TO OPERATE WITH DIRECTV REMOTE. YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO CHANGE ANYTHING ON TV BY USE DIRECTV REMOTE, BUT TO OPERATE IT'S CONTROL BOX. REALLY, YOU CHANGING CHANNELS ON THAT BOX, NOT TV ITSELF. IF YOU'RE NOT A SUBSCRIBER, FORGET THAT REMOTE! UNLESS YOU'RE A CUSTOMER, IT WON'T HAPPEN. JUST "GOOGLE" YOUR MAKE AND MODEL FOR A SUITABLE UNIVERSAL REMOTE, OR THE ORIGINAL.
ALSO: YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET ANY RECEPTION(HD OR ANY), UNLESS YOU HAVE RABBIT EARS OR ANTENNA ON A ROOF.

Afraid, you must purchase a new clicker. this is counterfeit brand, with no codes for universal remotes. If you can't get it at manufactures, check all available universal remotes at department stores for supporting this "brand". Sorry, didn't have any good experience of getting parts for "Protron".

That is a Chinese set and most remote codes will not work. Must use OEM remote.

Your brand is listed with several to choose from.

If none of these work, there are dozens of 'learning remotes' on the market that allow you to use the original remote to program the new one.
Not all of them are perfect; research them first.

if you have gone through all of the programming codes; you will just have to use the remote that came with the TV set. there is no way to program more codes into the remote, due to its list of codes it was made with can not be updated. i hope this helps

I spoke with their tech support in India and was told this tv will not work with a universal remote.

If you have Directv as a provider, the answer is quite simple. Just click on the menu button on the remote and press "setup". From there go to HDTV which will give you options for 4:3, which is the standard screen size and 16:9 which represents widescreen. Follow the steps for resolution etc., from there.
