If the TV is dead, first place to look will be the power supply, look for 5VDC, 12VDC, and 24VDC at the output connector of the power supply.

Yamaha RX-V2600 completely dead ... any ideas

If it is plugged in to a working outlet, and the AC cord is not broken, there is a problem in the power supply of the receiver. This provides all of the DC voltages that make all functions work. If it is completely dead, the display, the lights, the audio, (everything) is not working; and it is not likely there are separate problems in all of these areas at the same time.

Convergence was bad. Before kit was used no audio or video

It says Zenith here and if different let me know----if the convergence failed and took a resistor or fuse device (not a glass fuse) out the set will be dead--set detects no voltage to that area and shuts down for protection.

Dead channel

Check speaker wiring for shorts, if okay, the audio output semiconductors in the dead channel need to be investigated.

My2308 CI went dead. Changed the outlet, and power cable. Still dead. What should I check? Or should I bring it in?

Check the wiring to the speakers and amp, if no change, it indicates audio output ic problem. I recommend a technician to further examine the unit.
