I have an insignia tv 1080, just bought 3 months ago. I can't find the way to see it in 1080p. I just got HD package and it looks like a normal tv.
I hate this tv doesn't tell you how to see it in 1080p. All it shows is 480i. NO Way i can't set it up to 1080p. Please tell me anyone how to set it up. thank you...
That's because the TV's are ahead of the technology. Cable TV does not broadcast anything in 1080P yet;
A stated specification of 1080 is typically 1080i/720p. Which resolution to select from your source will be determined by the TV's video processor. If the video processor in your TV works well at 720p you will find that typically looks better. You will need to test each setting (1080i or 720p) to compare. I have not seen any TV's smaller than a 32" with 1080p resolution...and I would with confidence say, don't worry about the difference between 1080i and 1080p on a TV of this size...you won't see the difference! Dynamic range, contrast ratio, proper white balance, etc. are far more important. This generally requires calibration from someone who's certified and has the equipment do so but remember the quality of the source is everything!
