GE profile fridge (model PFS22SBSBSS) bottom freezer french doors has a digital display for temp of freezer and fridge. It is blank but cooling still works. It you press temp buttoms to cahnage it beeps but does not display ang numbers. Manual does not give any trouble shooting or reset actions. Has it failed after 20 months?
Hi. Its either a bad motherboard or control board. I would check the control board for any obvious signs of damage to the board first. I've seen the control board go blank on the GE side by side and it turned out to be the motherboard. The motherboard is located behind a cover on the back of your refrigerator cabinet. You should have a new motherboard on hand at all times because they fail alot. Be sure to put a surge protector on your refrigerator. Good Luck, Mack

Our 3 year old GE Profile 22 cu ft bottom freezer model PDS22SBSALSS has similar symptoms. After I recycled the AC power to the fridge the display worked briefly and went blank again.
Our Square D circuit breaker box has whole house surge protection.

I have the same GE Profile freezer on the bottom fridge. Mine is 3 years old. Yesterday the digital display worked and today it quit. I did change the filter for the first time. I don't think it has anything to do with it, but my ice cubes were tiny. The ice cubes are fine now and now the digital display is working for a few hours and not for a few more hours. I did call GE. I wasn't willing to pay 79.99 for a trip charge and any parts extra. Any help you can give I would appreciated it. thanks Julie
