I have only been able to find info for the 555, not the 572. Bit it MAY apply.

See if there is a reset button in the back of the unit. Press and release to reset the router.

Press and hold for 5 seconds and it will reset with everything for the factory defaults.

As I said, this actually pertains to the 555, but it may also work for the 572.

do you have a connection in your modem?
cause if you do you need to set up the router in bridge with it means it has to be on DHCP (the configuration)

Check the type of encryption the 572 is set for, I've found a few cases where it needs to be WPA and not WEP. As a temporary measure, you could switch off wireless security.
Lastly, check your not getting a channel conflict, if a neighbour has a wireless access point with the same channel, you may get problems, which will require logging onto the 572 and changing the wireless channel

To connect to the internet using wifi on the iPod touch, just follow the following steps:
Firstly, you should be in a wifi zone(an area where you can access wifi) or if you want to use it at your house with your residential internet connection, just get yourself a wifi router(shouldn’t cost more than $50-60) and configure it with your residential internet Once you are in a wifi zone, on your iPod touch, go to:
Settings > Wifi > Turn your wifi ON > Select a wifi network > Key in the WEP(only if asked for) > Connect
Once you’re done with this, you should get the IP settings and be able to surf the internet with no problem.
Note: At times when you’re too far away from the wireless router or a big thick brick wall is separating you and the wifi router, your iPod might show the network as available and you would also be able to connect to it, but surfing the internet using it would become a problem. If this happens to you, don’t worry, just move closer to the wifi router and it shouldn’t pose any other problems. Happy Surfing!

Try resetting your router. This can usually be done by unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.

This problem appears most in ZyXEL routers and NETGEAR routers.
On those routers with the original firmware, only ONE computer has internet access at any given time.
So, when your laptop is on you wi-fi, the iPod cannot access the internet.
When the iPod has internet, the laptop cant.

make sure you are using correct connextion lead between you ipod and laptop 

hold the reset button at the back of the router for a couple of seconds, connect your pc and run the installation. During the installation process, it will ask for the ip address, input the new ip address of your new provider.

verify wireless settings in your router. Check if the security enabled in your router is already supported by your IPod touch. Otherwise, set the wireless security of the router to a mode that is supported by your IPod touch.
