Printer gives error
Insert right cartridge. it has been replaced with 3 differnet cartridges and it gives the same error
Try this while standing on one leg.
1. OPen ink caridge lid.
2. Remove the affected cartridge.
3. Close lid
4. Try to print. This will fail, but that is ok.
5. Open the ink cartridge door again.
6. Remove the other cartridge.
7. Unplug the unit.
NOTE FOR THE NEXT STEP
This can be risky and I asume no responsibility for pressng too ******* the contact points, havng too much alcohol, using the wrong kind of alcohol, or not using alcohol or other such problems that can occur.
8. Using ONLY alcholo lightly brushthe contact points
9. Lightly clean the cartridge cotact points.
10. Plug in the unit
11. Install the cartridges.
12. Go through the alignment process.
13. Switch to the other leg, those with one leg only are exempt.
14. You just might be ready to print again.
I know this sounds crazy but this just worked for me.

This is a recurrent problem because the older printer is having trouble with newer software and/or computer. Time to buy a new printer. Sorry to be the bearer. I worked directly with the hp support people and this was the conclusion.
Stop buying HP printers because 1: they charge way too much for ink cartridges.& mine has the same trouble. I did get it too work one time when I hooked it up to a new Computer and reintstalled the drivers. But when I took it back to my other Computer with drivers installed it would not work. Unfortunately I sold the other Computer it worked on so it may be there is a software problem but not sure because it will send a fax but won't recieve one. Naturally because it has an ink cartridge error. A printer should last three years at least and mine I got about a year out of. Just after the warranty was up although I don't think the warranty was even good for a year, probably just three or six months. I think people should go back to ribbon printers so we can at least print when we need to . When technology gets good enough for people to get at least three years out of a printer then perhaps we would return to whatever lasted the longest laser or inkjet. I don't know why they want more money for laser printers anyway since inkjets are way higher quality printouts anyway. Solution Buy Canon at least the ink is cheaper and you can refill easier. HP just wants us to keep buying new printers and the same is true with most others or they would have a sensible price on ink and refills.Where the printers have the heads right on the cartridges when the cartridge is empty we should if any warranty is worth its salt get a new cartridge free and just pay for the inksupplied. After all it is a part of the machine under warranty. Most cartridges only last a couple months Color especially. This is the best solution I think is to make any seller of a printer keep us in good cartridge until the warranty is fullfilled. We just pay for ink.

Turn on the HP printer. Lift the printer cartridge door, which is the right side of the printer, revealing the black and color ink cartridges. Push down on the front of the cartridge you need to replace and pull it out slowly. Unwrap the new ink cartridge and peel off the tape. Insert it at an angle into the cartridge slot. Apply gentle pressure until it clicks into place. Close the cartridge door and press "OK" when prompted.
