I have someone logging into my Facebook account almost everyday and maybe three times or more. What can I do so I don’t have to be changing my password all the time?

Hello, Kathy -

1. Establish a new, separate email address. Use an email provider which is different than the one you currently use . . . Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo,Mail.com, etc. Make sure you use a strong password for that new email account and write it down somewhere and keep it in a safe place, in case you forget the password..

2. Open your Facebook account (your current email address + the latest Facebook password you established) and choose Settings.

Edit your Facebook Account Contact email address to the new one you just established and make it your Primary Email Address. Plus remove the email address you previously used as your Primary Email Address.

If you have a cell phone, make sure your cell phone number is provided as an alternate contact.

Save those changes.

3. Then, change your Facebook Password. You should see Security and Login in the left sidebar. Click or tap on that. Follow the on-screen instructions for changing your Password. Make your new Facebook password a strong one. Write it down, along with your new FB login / ID and keep it in a safe location so that you can refer to it if you forget it. Save that change.

4. Log out of your FB account.

5. Log back into your FB account, with the new ID/email address and new Password. NOTE: DO NOT allow your FB login and password to be saved through your browser and other devices. Saving that login information makes it easier for someone else to get into your account.

Only time will tell if the changes you make, as I have described above, will keep out anyone who was logging into your FB account.

Best wishes.

I bought my grand daughter a tablet for Christmas and she changed the lock pattern and doesn't remeber it! Can you help us unlock it?

Keep trying the unlock pattern. Once it rejects you it will ask you to sign in to your google account. If you don't have a google account type "null" in the user name line and "0000" for the password. I was locked out of my android phone and used this to get past the unlock pattern and back in to my phone.

I did change my password so can you help please

People who tell you they can read minds are charlatans. I really can't guess what password you used.
If you really forgot your password, try writing down all passwords you used last year, and try them one by one. If you can't find it, nobody can.
Only one person is supposed to know your password. When logging in, on that page is a button, forgot password or something like that. Press the button and you will get an email, on the address you gave the site while setting up your account. Follow the instructions in the mail and everything will be ok in just a few minutes.
If you can access your account, goto settings and there change password. Be aware they again ask you current password before you can give in any changes.
If someone hacked your account and did change the settings, you don't get an e-mail, you won't be able to claim the account. You have to setup a new account.

How do i reset it i don't remeber my password

Passwords add a level of security to your computer. When sharing a computer with others, your customized settings, computer programs, and system resources are more secure when you assign a password to your logon name or user account name. The steps to perform this task differ depending on whether your computer is a member of a network domain or is part of a workgroup (or is a stand-alone computer). My computer is on a domain You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure. Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password. My computer is not on a domain If no password has been assigned to the user's account, a password will need to be created before it can be changed. For information about creating a password, click Related Topics. The steps to perform this task differ depending on the type of user account you have. If you have a computer administrator account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click your account name. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type your new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. If you have a limited account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type the new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. Notes A user with a computer administrator account can create and change passwords for all users on the computer. Users with limited accounts can create and change their own passwords, as well as create their own password hints. If a user with a computer administrator account changes the password for another user, that user will lose all EFS-encrypted files, personal certificates, and stored passwords for Web sites or network resources. Notes To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts. For more information about user accounts, click Related Topics. Related Topics

Iam on my daughters laptop and having to use her user name and password , because i cannot remeber my parent password , how can i change it or remeber it

  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
  3. Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click on the User Accounts icon and proceed to Step 4.
  4. Click on the User Accounts link.
  5. In the Make changes to your user account area of the User Accounts window, click theChange your password link.
  6. In the first text box, enter your current password.
  7. In the next two text boxes, enter the password you would like to start using.
  8. Entering the password twice helps to make sure that you typed your new password correctly.
  9. In the final text box, you're asked to Type a password hint.
  10. This step is optional but I highly recommend that you use it. If you try logging in to Windows 7 but enter the wrong password, this hint will display, hopefully jogging your memory.
  11. Click on the Change password button to confirm your changes.
  12. You can now close the User Accounts window.
  13. Now that your Windows 7 password has been changed, you must use your new password to log on to Windows 7 from this point forward.
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

E -mail Problem

Hi,

First thing is to change your email password - this should be no less than 8 characters in length, contain at least 1 capital letter, 1 number and not be somthing that a person that knows you could "guess" - dont use birthdays, partners name, pet etc. Think of a phrase and use the first letter of each word, like "Today I will change my password to something hard" would be T1wcMp2Sh This way it is easy for your to remeber and no one else can hack your account very easily. You should also change your password several times a year especially on public sites.

Now if you can not gain access back to your hotmail account because the hackers took it over - you will have to contact Microsoft direclty and "Prove" you are the rightfull owner of the email account. This will take some time as they have to be certain it is your account.

Good luck - keep me posted.
