Ice maker leaks water into holding container, frezzes up holdeing container, ice wont despence , because its froze

sounds to me that the water control valve is leaking on the back of refrigerator and causing water to overfill the ice maker. Need model number not the serial number should talk to someone about replacement parts

most of the time when that happens first thing you do is make sure water is getting to the solenoid for the ice maker if you have a water despencer you have water the solenoid for the ice maker is normally found in the back of frig near bottom pull frig out till you can get behind it look where water line goes into the frig solenoids for water and ice maker should be there. leave frig plugged up have someone use the water despencer feel whitch one that is replace the other one

use a hair dryer,unplug the machine or if you know how to manually get it into defrost do that so it will help you melt out the ice that's holding it in place.or you can put a towel down and pour hot water on it to melt it out,whatever works.sounds like water might have leaked from ice maker and froze the draw in place.

Good work thus far. If the ice maker tray that holds the ice is leaking, you need to get a new ice maker. It would never work right if you tried to patch it, and would only cause further headaches. Sounds like you have a little experience which is good. Go down to a local retailer and purchase an ice maker and install it yourself instead of paying someone to do it ;) There is no foul in paying to get it done though. good luck!

3 screws hold the ice maker in place. On some versions the 2 top screws are replaced with clips, but it is self explanatory.
The cover is a tight fit, but un clips from the bottom first. You re-install by snapping it in place with the palm of your hand.
The wire pulls straight out of the front of the ice maker and then you wiggle the rear off its mounting hole.
HOWEVER,
What you described is classic of a bad water valve. Especially the overflow issue. I would change the valve first, and if it still has issues then replace the ice maker.

probably the water valve is not shutting of completly . this will flood the tray and then run over into the bucket. try // i would replace water valve . if this does not correct prob. replace the ice mker head as it time's the fill..

Is the fill tube in the cup? also is the ice maker the correct ice maker for the unit.

sounds like you have a bad water valve,if the ice maker is disconnected and water is still filling the ice maker cup the valve is bad

you have to hold in the ice type and the childlock button for about 6 seconds and that will take the filter light off. To reset the ice maker open the freezer door and then pull out the ice bin. on the bottom of the ice maker theres a button that you have to hold in to reset the ice maker.
