I have a new samsung blu-ray player... but manual does not list remote code to make the new remote compatible with my Sylvania TV... any ideas??

It doesn't look like this remote was intended to control more than the TV On/Off , Input and Volume. The remote code list for the Sony RMT-B107A will be included in the manual for the Blu-ray player that the remote came with. According to https://www.remotecontrols.com/product/RMT-B107A.html , this remote was included with the Sony BDP-BX37, among others. Vizio is not listed in the code list. However, Vizio uses a number of OEMs to build their TVs. Those OEMs may use the same remote control hardware as other brands of TVs. Since the copyright date for this manual is 2010, the remote is unlikely to be fully compatible with TVs built after 2009. (Most universal remotes are trained with codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote is programmed.)

I wish that I had better news for you. Please add a comment with the model of your Blu-ray player if you want me to find that specific manual.

Samsung remote control have no set-up codes to LG blu-ray player. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service center, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

Start by pressing and holding the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until allthe mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use thenumber buttons to enter one of the codes for your Samsung Blu-Ray Player, then pressthe pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the modelight flashes three times. To check that the code works try several differentfunctions on the remote to make sure it will properly operate your Blu-Ray Player. Keep in mind that some codes may not be compatible with it.If this is the case, please try the other codes listed for that device untilyou find one that is compatible with your equipment. try 093. it worked on my samsung remote for my insignia blu ray player. Insignia instructs you to use sylvania codes and this code is listed under DVDplayers in my samsung guide. like i said...it worked for me!
