I have a kenmore elite oasis top loading washer about 3 years old. I took it apart and checked the springs and the rods and the plastic ends that hold the rods in place and all of them look fine. I run an empty load in the washer and it still goes unbalanced on the spin cycle. My water bill has tripled due to the fact that every load takes 3 to 4 washings. I need help please!
I had constant UL errors with my Elite Oasis and the fix was to replace the suspension rods and springs. In my case it was the rod by the bleach dispenser that had rusted badly and the spring had far less tension than the other 3. All four rod springs have to have equal tension or you will get the UL error code. Also to prevent UL codes don't mix your load with heavy and light items, ie heavy pants and tshirts.
This is pretty old, but I figure I would share some info on how to fix the balance problem. I have a kenmore elite he washer and also had that same UL balance issue. Many people say to replace the suspension rods and bearings, but i found it to be a washer level issue. What to do is measure each corner of the washer from the floor the line where the washer lid opens. Each measurement needs to be the same. I believe the legs are adjustable to set the height in each corner. In order to test this first, i just put 1/4 wood board under the 2 front legs and no more shake!! Your welcome.
