Oven pilot went out due to power outage. I don't know where the pilot oven light is. where is the pilot light to light the oven?Ge XL44

pilot over lights do not require power to stay light or should it go out in a power outage! do you have to normally light pilot with a match? if not you have a glow coil and its a electronic ignition range and power will affect it. once power is restored you should just be able to turn on over and everything would be ok.if it is a pilot light you need to remove the bottom door stick arm in to back and you'll see the pilot assembly at back if you look up! hopethis helps...

The oven pilot does not light. The broiler will not work. The only thing that does is the light. GE XL44 range. The burners light and the pilots stay lit.

If you have standing pilots, make sure the pilot for the oven/broiler is lit as well.  When you turn the thermostat up to call for heat, you should see the pilot get larger. That larger pilot flame heats a hydraulic sensor and opens the main burner valve.

    GE XL44 pilot

I dont know if you recieved an answer yet but this is a fairly easy fix. Open your oven door and remove your bottom oven plate. You now should see the burner element running down the middle. at the rear of the burner element is the ignite r (small porcelin bugger with two wires) remove this and replace with a new one GE #WB2X9154 available from the repairclinc.com website for 69.80 plus shipping. i just ordered (2) they seam to go out like clockwork every 2-3 years. To be safe unplug your ovens 110 volt cord first.

    GE XL44 Gas Stove

Hi I have a GE X44 gas stove. The 4 top burners work just fine, but the oven no longer turns on. I don't see the blue flame inside the oven. Is it safe to relight the pilot light?????

    GE XL44 Range

The pilot light is lit to light the main burner. First off, is your pilot light lit or is the igniter lit. There are two thermal sensor in the oven. One is above your pilot light and will not let the pilot light stay lit unless there is a flame. Secondly, you have a thermal sensor in your oven wired all the way to the switch to turn the oven on. If it thinks that it is at temp, then it will never turn on. This sensor may become bad or the case of my oven break. But if these are good, you many have a clogged burning unit underneath. Cleaning according to the owners manual may correct that. Check your owners manual to see what is user serviceable. Gas is nothing to play with.
