Does it shut down at the same point everytime? I'm wondering how the "technician" was able to keep it running long enough to get the viruses off it. Is there a noticeable temparature change in your location and the "technicians" location. I'm still leaning towards a heat issue. I've had laptops, while performing format, etc. shut down due to heat. I would elevate the laptop off the desk so the circulation is better and it would work fine. Any more information, can you check the system , cpu, etc. temparatures?
Im betting all viruses we not removed go to www.malwarebytes,org download and run it ,its free works great. try it in safe mode with network. use this next http://www.kaspersky.com/removaltools free also..is your fan firing up on laptop [spinning] if so not a heat problem..

plugged it in and we have power, mostly. Once powered on, the screen flickers periodically and then shuts down. I've removed the battery and am now running on power cord. I recently had the computer looked at by a computer technician. There were multiple viruses and he said he got those all cleaned up. Said he thought he had the issue of randomly shutting down, fixed. Notta!
Might be a problem due to heat. Need more info. Does anything light up? Does it make any sounds at all?
virus ,or hardware conflicts.any light at all?
