Do you want to record programs on your vcr? connect the out to tv cable from your dir/tv box to antenna or cable in on the vcr, then connect the cable from out to tv on the vcr to antenna or cable in on the tv, you'll have to select channel 3 on the tv to get the vcr to show a picture and you will need to select channel 3 on your vcr to record the channel selected on your dir/tv box. confusing?thanks and good luck.

Sanyo vwm390 vcr

That might be the TV output channel. I found these instructions in a Sanyo manual:
How to set the DVD+VCR's RF output channel 1. Set the TV to the VCR channel (3 or 4) depending upon the selected channel. 2. When the DVD+VCR is turned off, press and hold CHANNEL (V/v) on the front panel for more than five seconds. It will turn itself on and "RF03" or "RF04" appears in the dis-play window. 3. Press CHANNEL (V/v) on the front panel or CH/TRK(v/V) on the remote control to change the RF output channel (CH 03 or CH 04). 4. Turn off the DVD+VCR.

It might solve the problem!

How can I set the channel BACK to CH 3 from CH 4

1) Set your TV to channel 3.
2) Insert a pre-recorded tape into this unit.
3) Press the OUTPUT button on the DVD/VCR so that the VCR OUTPUT light is lit.
• If noise appears on the TV screen, press the VCR/TV button on the remote control.
4) Press the PLAY button once.
5) After a few seconds, press the PLAY button on the DVD/VCR for 3 seconds.
• The RF output channel will change to channel 3 from channel 4 and you will see a playback picture.
• When a picture does not appear on the TV screen, repeat step [4].
6) Press the STOP button to stop playback.

DVD won't play with Direct TV

Finally............. monkeying around with the remotes, we discovered the basic little remote that turns on our TV was the source of connection. We now hit AV twice, and Go Video works. Voila. It took quite a bit of time to try every possible angle, finally realising we needed to leave Direct TV Remote out of the equation. Just the Go Video remote and our basic little simple remote. Go figure!!!!!

For now, we are good. (knock on whatever:)

Plays on wrong channel

ok i downloaded and read your DVR-1000 manual , this is what you will do .

While the DVD+VCR is turned off, press and hold CHANNEL (up/down) button on the front panel for about five seconds.

The unit will turn itself on and “RF 03” or “RF 04” appears on
the front panel display

Use CH ( up / down ) button on the front panel or CH ( up / down ) button on the remote control to change the RF output
channel (CH 03 or CH 04).

Turn the DVD+VCR off and then on

Set the TV to channel 3 or 4 depending on the RF
output channel you selected.
Now you can watch the DVD+VCR playback on CH3
or CH4 of your TV

PS , you should see a child lock button on the remote , if you press that button , you will disable front panel button controls so kids can't change anything , press it again to unlock that feature , it might come in handy.

Thanks for using Fix Ya .

Can't program coby dvd 224 help

Shana, What are you really trying to do!!!! Do you understand what the jacks on the Coby DVD player are for?? Can you connect the Coby player directly to TV AUX inputs and play a DVD?
Is the satellite 'box' still connected to TV/Monitor using TV Tuner set to chann 3 or 4? Is the TV you
are trying to use have any or none of those YELLOW/RED/WHITE jacks on the back of it that you
have never plugged anything into them. Is the TV always set to Ch3, and is never changed to any
other Ch number??? Do you only change Ch up or down using the satellite "box" tuner? ALL these
questions and more must be answered by you before anyone can help you out. You must know your
own equiptment and its capabilities. The COBY Player will never be found by the satellite dish tuner.

Blurry Sanyo TV

Well after playing around with the tv some more, I decided the problem was probably the cable jack, and tried running the video in/out cables thru the VCR to get around this, which I read generally works but in this case nothing. I had tried the tv on various settings, anytime I put the tv in "video" mode I'd get a blue screen and nothing else. Anyway I found a switch in the back of the Direct Tv box for ch. 3 & 4 settings. So I flipped it but still got a snowy picture, only this time it was on ch 4 instead of ch 3. By sheer accident I put the tv back in video mode while I had the satilites setting to ch 4, and the picture came up crystal clear. Since I didn't mess with it further, I'm not sure if it was the channel selector or the fact that hooked the tv up via the video cables, but whatever it was it did the trick.

I just KNEW this could not be a broken tv despite the fact that everhwere I read online suggested it was. I knew pictures can go out, or sound can go out....but to have BOTH go out didn't make sense to me. Anyway, glad its working! :)
