Make sure the hose connection did not work loose. If it did, water will slowly drip and fill up the bucket over time. If you know the bucket is empty, try readjusting it- it may just be cocked a little bit and this will affect the switch.

I am not sure of the exact model number, but the unit is rated for 70 pints. It shutdowns and lights the full bucket lamp, but the bucket is not full (there is a hose attached). I dis-assembled the unit...

The problem is that the hose connection tube that the hose is connected to, is clogged. That's the reason water was going to the bucket and the full bucket sensor was shutting the unit OFF

To unclog the tube, you will need an 18" long Plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire Coat Hangers, though) that is appropriately sized to fit into the hole. Before doing anything, Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit.

Carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hose connection hole/tubing and continue to gently push it in, until it reaches the bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work past this bend, until it bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Now, slowly remove it, while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. As the Zip Tie is almost totally removed, be prepared for some water to follow.

The above should solve your problem. Will you still need the wiring schematic to reconnect the bucket safety switch? If so, please let me know.

Doesn't run, turn on or anything............I think it has died. Bought in 2004. Any suggestions? 65 pint/2 speed. Hose connection to drain, no reservoir needed.

the full bucket switch on these models goes bad, o.k.,i know, you said its hooked to a hose to the drain so the bucket never fills up,but, seriously, test the "bucket full" (in the upper right hand area of where the bucket installs) shut-off switch,as this will kill one of these units if it goes bad as it carries all the units power through it at all times,i replace many of these every season,if this switch goes bad it shuts off the entire unit

The bucket full light is on and unit will not run. Unit has hose adapter in use.

Look inside where the bucket goes in at the top right hand side is the bucket switch. Hold it in and start the unit. If it runs the arm on the switch must be bent SLIGHTLY until it makes contact with the button and the lite goes out with the bucket in.

When hose is attached, bucket fills up

yes: hose allowed the bucket to be bypassed yes: bucket was there only for the switch to power can you pass a finger through the hole where the hose connected? probably not, right? most of these buckets have a knockout area inside the hose connection. Try prying it out or even drilling it out if required. remember that once you remove hose, you must purchase a plug hose end connector to continue bucket only useage.
