LG FLATRON L1915S BLACK SCREEN AFTER REFRESH 1SEC

old monitor , no PC stated, nor cable used < VGA>
test this old monitor on 2nd PC, if fails the monitor is bad.
it is 14 years old today, 2005 made
all this old are bad the toxic CCFL lamps go bad long ago.
best is the recycle center, it and buy only monitors and laptops
2010 or newer, or you get CCFL backlamps again.
the monitor this old has near zero street value, and repair costs are huge, nobody puts $1000 saddle on a $5 15 year old horse,
The CCFL panel can cost $100 and 1 to 2x that for labor
a used monitor is like $40 ,even walfart sells them called refurbs.

As soon as I turn on the Hyundai X93W monitor, it stays on for a couple of seconds, then the screen goes black, but the green light next to the power button is still on. I'm not sure when this problem...

josealvajr, Check YOUTUBE again!! Use search terms: "lcd monitor repair" and "lcd monitor disassembly" and you will find some video clips that may not be for your unit, but will help you. All ccfl back-lit lcd monitors use same basic electronic design to display text and images on the lcd panel!!! Hyundai probably won't sell you a inverter/smps board. Look for swollen capacitors on the power supply board. Lots of pic's on web for you to look at. 12fixlouie

I have a hyundai monitor which keeps switching itself off Displays the computer screen then goes into energy saving mode after a second or so Help!

alastairhaig, Is unit 4 years old? Could be problem with units switch-mode-power-supply if same thing occurs when connected to fully functioning different pc that has all screen saver and power save features disabled. After screen goes "black" do you still see the WIN-desktop screen and icon's if you hold a bright flashlight at different angles about 1 inch from the screen? SEE = power supply in "partial shutdown" mode. NO SEE = smps in "full shutdown" mode. Do some reading in my fixya profile about "black screen of death" repairs. also read FIXYA profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" and other fine profiles of technicians here on fixya. You will truly be amazed when you visit YOUTUBE for video clips of owners/technicians who save their cold cathode fluorescent lamp, back-lit lcd monitors from the "trash-heap"!!! After you do your research please return here and rate this response and possibly do additional comment. 12fixlouie

Hyundai L 91

Put a light up to the screen to see if its just the light. If you can see your background its the light or a light setting, otherwise it will need to be repaired.
