Dream Maker Spas Dream Maker Ez Spa Hot Tub Logo
Posted on Jan 01, 2010

My dream maker spa sounds like it is trying to click on when I hit the switch but it doesn't come on. There is power and the topside control will adjust temp and turn on light but the pump will not come on. I think the fuse is blown. It appears to use a 5 amp 250 volt fuse but I don't know where to get one. They already had me replace the power cord and fuse once but now it seems to be doing the same as when I replaced last time.

5amp 250 volt...there are many different ones... take old one to lowes or home depot...possibly walmart.

    It requires a 20amp 250volt fuse. If you have a 5amp then that’s why it’s blowing.

An electrical supply house would have, or could get your fuse. You can also contact Dream Maker and they would send one to you. It sounds like the you have a voltage issue and may pertain to other fixtures you have on the circuit (such as freezers). If you have the spa plugged into an extension cord, this will likely be the cause. You need to have an electrician run a dedicated 15 amp service to the spa.

Sparform hot tub blower won't turn off

When an appliance will not turn off, no matter what you press on the control panel, you have either a non responding (dead button) topside control panel, or your topside panel did receive the message to turn it off and the circuit board is not responding.
  • If you have some kind of indicator light when you press your Jet/pump button, if the topside panel is operational and does actually receive your request to either turn on or off an appliance, an indicator will appear - either a light or icon.
    • If one does appear when button pressed, then dis-appears when pressed, that means your panel is good - as it is responding to the pressing of the associated button.
      • Bad circuit board
    • If nothing appears when you press the button, no lights or icons - indication of topside receiving your request, then you you have a dead button.
      • Bad Topside Control Panel

I have a vita duet spa. It has a pb error and the jets or the lights will not turn on. Any suggestions?

Vita Spa Error code (PB) is a power board communication error. Turn off the power and then check the connection between the topside control and control box. check for loose or unplugged wires, unplug the topside control (after turning off the power) and check for signs of shorts or charring on the wiring ribbon/connectors. If you cannot find the source of the problem you will need to contact your dealer or repair technician. I hope this helps =)

Topside control issues

Topside control is in "Locked" mode.
If you accidentally locked your control

Hold temperature UP & DOWN together for 6 seconds.
or
Balboa 7 button controls, both buttons to the left of the display screen & down temperature.
or
One of the buttons might be stuck in the down position

If these do not help let us know your control make and model & we'll see what we can do to find out more for you.

Why won't the spa jets turn on when I touch the touch pad? The light will not turn on and there is no response when I touch or push on the pad anywhere.

Do you have the operating instructions?

It may be that your topside controls are locked. Check your instruction manual, it should hopefully tell you how to unlock the controls.

Dream Maker spa - does my dream maker spa 4 person have a thermostat or temperature sensor that can be changed out? Or, is this all in the topside control panel or CGA control box? I'm having issue's with...

Depending upon the age, the Dream Maker has a digital thermostat which is easy to change but to be honest I don't think that is the cause of your problem.

Check the keypad connection on the PCB (circuit board).

t could be either the keypad or PCB at fault and withou trying one or the other you'll not be able to determine the problem. My advise would be for you to contact your local parts supplier and ask them whether or not they can supply you a keypad to try with the option to send it back for a refund if it doesn't cure the problem.

A keypad can be trial fitted to the PCB, just unplug the old one, plug the new one in and turn on the power. There's no need to install the keypad to the spa, therefore you wont damage it in anyway.

If the keypad doesn't cure the problem, change the PCB.

Regards,
Ian.
