We have an older (about 10 yrs) double electric oven. Both ovens stopped working at the same time. The electric control panel for the upper oven is on and it looks like it turns on but the elements don't heat. On the lower oven that has a manual dial, when it's turned on, the oven/heat light does not go on but the lower element heats up a little, the broil doesn't heat up at all. Someone said that it's the electronic control board so I obtained a reconditioned one that doesn't work anyhow - but it's confusing because the lower oven element will heat up when the top panel is unplugged so - how is it that both ovens are out? Thanks anyone!!
We have an old Whirlpool oven, and the lower heating element is no longer heating above 250 degrees. Is this heating element something that can be pulled out -- like the stove burners can be pulled out of electrical sockets -- or is it attached to wires, requiring an electrician to replace the unit?
These ovens have a fuse in them called a tco thermal cut out switch if the ovens over heat for a varity of reasons it cuts the power and must be replaced most are on the back of the ovens and are metel disc with two wires on them
