Paper comes out torn and see loose piece of foam

Canon Pixma MP530 - I have had several paper jams in the last day. After clearing the last one, the paper feeds in, I hear a crunching noise (but it prints), but the paper comes out torn. I now see a loose piece of foampaper comes out torn and see loose piece of long and skinny foam partially hanging out. Ideas?

OK
Remove the ink cartridges and print-head then remove the long skinny piece of foam and wash it and dry it - don't wring it out but press it between sheets of paper towel. You'll see lots of ink come out of it.
Using more paper towel, clean out all the ink you can find inside the printer - there will be lots. Look at the end where the print-head parks and you'll see 2 more sponge pieces. Don't remove them but use plenty of towel to absorb as much ink as you can from them.
Once you think everything is clean look for any loose bits of paper inside and remove them. Then, refit the now dry piece of foam. It's not as hard as it looks as the thing is shaped so that it will only fit in one way. Make sure it is properly seated then refit the print head and the carts and switch on.
I've had this happen twice in the last year on my ip5200 - particularly when using scrap paper.

Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer Canon mp530 error 6a00

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.
Clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like

Loose screw jamming paper in Canon Pixma MP530 printer

Go buy a magnetic retriever from your local hardware shop they are very cheap.

Make sure you get a slim version

Either that or turn the printer upside down and get someone to whack it on the bottom with the palm of their hand as you hold it

What goes in must come out

I have a paper jam.

on all printes small pieces of plastic comes loose new ones are bad about it That is the cause of the problem. To remove the paper you need to open it and be careful to pry it loose, It might have to come out in pieces so don't get upset with it it is only time. after you get it out turn it up side down and shake it. There will be a small piece of plastick in there that is messing it up. then try to do a dry run with it. to make sure it is clear and if it spins you are ready to go with it Please don't use WD 40 on it I have one here in the shop that a farmer brought in 2 days ago that he tried to make it unjam. Please don't do that

8: Unplug AC Power Cord to set data.
Try this I found it doing a search on your machine, that foam was called a blotter, and it should work without it, good luck

Foam fell out of printer now printer jams

There are no foams inside the printer for normal operation. Unless this is the one that was inside it during shipping but you were not able to remove it. In any case if you are not having any problems then you are good to go. dont worry about it.

Paper feed

Your printer is politely asking you to please get a torch, and open the lid of unit and thoroughly check inside all over for a tiny jam of paper or something else. I am willing to bet you will find some jam. I would also switch it off, and wait a while before turning on and printing again. Good luck

Jamming

Hi Scott, My experience is if there was a jam and it still says it's jammed after clearing the paper you missed some. Even if the sheet that caused the last jam didn't tear it may have moved a torn piece of paper that was in there from before. Check again, really well for small pieces of paper stuck somewhere. Hope that helps. If not let me know and I'll see what else we can do. El Duderino
