My Razr sometimes answers immediately without my doing anything.

your service provider will provide you with a code to alter the settings for the answer phone , you can adjust how long before the answer phone kicks in and whether the answer phone is on or off

Even though the plug that plugs into the wall on an M-7310 looks like the same plug that the answering machine has, it's function is completely different. The information passed on the single pair of wires is enough to make a 24 button 10 button or 8 button system phone work, has no ringing voltage or dial tone for a single line device like your answering machine.

A Nortel system has ports that have that information, but most likely the answering machine was installed BEFORE the phone system lines, which means it only answered the first line.

Try plugging your answering machine into the EXACT location it was before.

The problem is that the circuitry inside got wet and there is no knowing what that water damage got into .. shorts across circuit board components etc.. so it is what it is,.. it may work..but chances are something in the logic got corrupt by that water.. It's a hit or miss proposition.. I doubt very much that it will recover on it's own after this length of time drying out.. Good luck..

Panasonic has a feature for those who forget to turn their machine on. If the answering system is off, you can turn
it on remotely.
1 Dial your phone number.
2 Let the phone ring 15 times.
The unit answers your call with the
greeting message.
You can hang up, or if you call from a
touch tone phone, you can enter your
remote code and begin remote
operation. Pressing 0 will turn the machine back off.


Most people will not let the phone ring 15 times when calling you. No way to circumvent without unplugging from the phone jack.

Go to this menu in your phone, Settings and Tools, Call Settings, In Call Setup, Answer Options,

Now, turn Multi Key to Off and then select Open To Answer and set it to On.

Press CLR to back your way out and you should be good to go. Just remember one of these keys on the side is Speaker Phone On/Off and many men hit this by mistake very often.

You go into the options then call settings and change it to automatic.

when the phone ring just press the answer key, when the calls end then just click yes to retrieve the lst call without disconnect the caller

I had this problem with my old phone, it was a Samsung Sch-950 I recently upgraded my phone and new phone doesn't do it so I don't have an answer other than to get a new phone.

Your phone is barred. This means it has been blocked of making or receiving any calls.
