I have acquired a Panasonic TX028DTM1 digital TV with 2 Scart sockets, a Pansonic NV-HV61EB/EBL VCR with 2 Scart sockets, and a Panasonic DMR-ES10EB/EBL DVD recorder with 2 Scart sockets.
I cannot understand the manuals as to how to connect these three items up correctly. All i want to be able to do is:
1) watch digital TV channels;
2) record digital TV channels onto DVD (while watching analogue channels), and play DVDs;
3) record digital TV channels onto the VCR (while watching analogue channels), and play videos.
I do not need to record from the VCR to the DVD or vice-versa, and I know that I will not be able to record digital channels while watching other digital channels.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I am based in the UK.
Hi,
If I may offer an unconventional solution in addition to the initial post...
Connect all TV, VCR and DVD Recorder as to any way you want to connect them or as otacon have posted.
However, from your cable input from your provider, use a 3-way splitter. Connect the 3 outputs to the individual ANT INput of each of the 3 units (assuming all 3 have Cable/ANT INputs).
With this method all 3 can receive TV signals, both the VCR and DVD-R can record (even simultaneously) and you can switch watching one program on the TV, while recording another program in either the VCR or DVD-R or both.

We were watching a DVD and switched the back to watch the dish and the tv is just fuzz. I was wondering if the tv needed to be on a certain channel.
