Aspect ratio won't change to 16:9 for my nintendo wii. it stays as 4:3 even when i change the output setting on my wii to 16:9. the nintendo wii support said that you have to change the aspect ratio on the tv itself as well, but i couldn't find out how. i am also using the nintendo component cables (bought separately specifically for the wii).

Go into menu on the tv and look for start up setting and look for tv ratio and change it. The cables should be right. The wii will not change aspect if the tv is not compatable

Have you checked the cables to the TV make sure they are all tight. Also try bypassing any connections between the receiver and TV.

DOES NOT FILL SCREEN HORIZONTALLY

You can change how your tv displays in the video setting menu under display. You will have a choice between 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, cinema or automatic. I think to fill your screen the best you should choose 16:10 but this is not going to guarantee that all channels will fill the screen. It still has to do with how it is being broadcast to you.

Cant change 4:3 aspect in AV mode on BR625T video - all setttings say they are on 16:9

Your tv is going to default to whatever the resolution is that is being pushed to it. Your source is probably only outputting a 4:3 format. It can be forced into 16:9 but will not fill out screen. You will just get a letterbox.

How do you change the stills function from 4.3 to 16.9 its really not very clear?

Hi
Having looked at the full manual - downloaded from here and savable:
http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z54662404z3z38916z656ez706466z22zdf06e277f71e6367f9e09db70241478cb0ad23ae/tsn3/data/ALL/HXWA30EG/OI/902781/vqt4x32.pdf
I think you will find that you cannot actually change from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio for a particular pixel sized picture. When you set the pixels for the picture you want, the aspect ratio is set automatically.
For example:
16Megapixels 4608x3456 4:3
12Megapixels 4608x2592 16:9
See page 96 of the manual mentioned above for a full table of Megapixels, size, ratio etc
Therefore changing the picture size from the simple menu changes the aspect ratio but you do not have control of the aspect ratio for each size, in other words you cannot take a 16Megapixel picture at 16:9, it has to be 4:3.
Hope this has been helpful
Cheers

How do you set cable to 16:9 output?

Different channels are broadcast in different aspect ratios, depending on the network and the show(s) being broadcast. Many older show are still broadcast in the 4:3 ratio to avoid distortion. Currently, there is nothing in the broadcast signal that tells the TV what aspect ratio to use. Therefore, TV remotes have a selection button (mine says "P.SIZE") that allows the user to change the aspect ratio to optimize the viewing experience.

Can't change Aspect Ratio

Check the settings on your laptop to make sure it is outputting a resolution that the TV will support.

A simple question - My new 42" LG tv is fine -

You should be able to change the aspect ratio to fit the size of your screen. This will be the 16:9 4:3 16:10 settings.

You can access these by going to MENU---> PICTURE -----> Select ratio that works----> exit out and watch TV.

IF this will not fix it you need to look into the signals being fed to the TV as sometimes they can have a funny effect on the output picture. Some cable boxes will alter the picture and then it won't come out right on the TV. If it is all inputs doing this tho then changing just the Aspect ratio on the TV should solve the problem.

Change screen from wide to regular our cable guy put it on wide my control will no longer change it

Vizio has a set of buttons on the left side where you can access your settings and change the aspect ratio of your TV. Though why you want it changed is beyond me. Wide screen is for 16:9 aspect ratios. At 4:3 (Standard) you won't be using your full TV picture.
