Print Cartridge Status
The Print Cartridge Status Light flashes when one
or both of your print cartridges are low on ink,
improperly installed, or malfunctioning. It will
also flash if you are trying to use the wrong print
cartridge type. If the problem is low ink, the light
will stop flashing when you open the top cover.
For any other print cartridge-related problem, the
Print Cartridge Status Light will continue to flash.
To check the status of your print cartridges, open
the printer's top cover. The yellow arrow on the
print cartridge cradle aligns with one of five Print
Cartridge Status icons.
I believe the DX series and the SX use the same system
# Determine which ink cartridges are not recognised. # With the ink cartridge holder in the ink cartridge replacement position, lift up the ink cartridge holder lid and take the cartridge or cartridges out. # Check that the cartridge is a genuine Epson ink cartridge - look for the EPSON branding and T0xxx codes on the cartridge labels. # Check that the cartridges are correct for your Epson product. # Wipe the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge that is not recognised. # Check the chip contacts within the ink cartridge holder for any debris or dried ink and wipe with a lint-free cloth if necessary. # Check that the plastic at the bottom of the cartridge has been pierced. # Check that the cartridges are in the correct slots. # Reinstall the cartridges into the ink cartridge holder in the correct order. # Push the ink cartridge down firmly. It should click into place. # Repeat this for any ink cartridges that were removed. # Push the ink cartridge holder lid down. It should clip into place and be secure. # Press the Stop button, this will return the ink cartridge holder to the right hand side of the unit. # If the error light flashes after the print head returns to the home position, the ink cartridge may not be installed properly. # If the red light is no longer displayed, but Status Monitor still reports a Non-Genuine Ink warning. # If the red light is still on the printer, and Status Monitor indicates that an ink cartridge is not recognised, follow the steps below. # If the problem remains, there may be a fault with the ink cartridge.
hello sir, hi, the ink comes out from the ink cartridge to the ink cradle where the ink pass to the paper, this is clogged, need you to clean the ink cradle, you can use warm water to soften the dried ink.
Hi,
If the ink level is low in a print cartridge, the Print Cartridge Status light stops flashing when the printer’s top cover is opened. When you open the panel the ink cartridges slide to the center , as far as checking the ink level find and right click on the printer icon, click properties, and find ink cartridges and ink levels.
Thanks
Shereena.
Windows
You can check the amount of ink remaining in the ink cartridges using EPSON Status Monitor 3 or the progress meter. Refer to the sections below for details. EPSON Status Monitor 3
Access EPSON Status Monitor 3 in one of the following ways.
Double-click the printer-shaped shortcut icon on your Windows taskbar. To add a shortcut icon to the taskbar, see the section below. See Monitoring Preferences
Open the printer software, click the Maintenance tab, then click the EPSON Status Monitor3 button.
A graphic displays the remaining amount of ink.
If any of the ink cartridges installed in the printer is broken, incompatible with the printer model, or improperly installed, EPSON Status Monitor 3 will not display an accurate calculation for the amount of ink remaining in any of the ink cartridges. Be sure to replace or reinstall any ink cartridge indicated by EPSON Status Monitor 3.
If an ink cartridge is empty, the red error light will remain solid. You can check the status of the
of the ink cartridges by looking at the icons on the control panel. Press the
down arrow button to scroll down to MORE OPTIONS. The level of ink will be
shown on the screen and the ink that will be out will have cross on it.
Please follow the steps below to replace one or more cartridges.
***NOTE*** -You cannot print if any ink cartridge is expended. -Leave the empty cartridge installed in the printer until you have obtained a replacement. -To ensure good results on your printouts, we recommend using Genuine Epson Ink cartridges. Epson does not recommend the use of refilled inks or 3rd party ink cartridges.
Once you start the ink cartridge replacement procedure, you must complete all the steps in one session.
1. Make sure the printer is powered on, and not printing. 2. Open the printer cover. 3. Do one of the following:
3a. If the red error light is on (cartridge is empty) press the MAINTENANCE BUTTON. 3b. If the red error light is flashing (cartridge is low) press the MAINTENANCE BUTTON. You will now see the Cartridge Replacement highlighted in Advanced Settings. Select OK. 3c. If the error light is off (outdated cartridge), press the DOWN ARROW MENU button to choose MORE OPTIONS. Press OK, then select INK CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT.
4. You will now see a message on the display telling you that the ink cartridge replacement will begin. Press OK to continue. The print head will move to the replacement position. 5. Open the cartridge cover. Press in the tab on the back of the cartridge, and lift the cartridge out of the printer. Dispose of it carefully. 6. Unwrap the new ink cartridge. DO NOT touch the green circuit boards, or remove ANY labels. 7. Lower the cartridge into the holder, with the green circuit board facing the front. Gently push the cartridge down until it is firmly seated. 8. If you need to replace another ink cartridge, repeat steps 5-7 above. 9. Close the cartridge cover. Press the front corner of the cartridge cover forward to lock the cover into place. 10. Press OK, and close the printer cover. The printer will begin charging the ink delivery system.
