Lakewood space heater thermostat source

I have a Lakewood 1500 watt oil filled space heater, model 7000/A, and I need a new thermostat. I know the company is out of business. I can find sources for switches but no thermostat. Do you know of a source for this part?

If it is a Ksd31 thermostat you need, you are in luck. I found what I needed for my model 5600/7 on ebay. The store Larksining sells the for as few as five/pkg in various temp. settings. I got 5 ea. in two temp settings for less than $11.00 USD with shipping from Hong Kong.

No I never had any luck and the parts likely 1/2 the cost or more of a new one at wal mart and the heat element would still be old too

Lakewood oil-filled radiator heat wattage?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Microwave Ovens category!

It all depends how cold you are .Start with low, turn it up if still cold.

When you turn them on from cold you can hear about 5 minutes of snap, crackle, pop until the oil comes up to temperature. After that this unit throws out a good amount of heat on the 900 watt and 1500 watt settings.

I have a Lakewood oil filled heater, mod # 7096. It heats, but not heat like it used too. I have checked the on/off switch, thermostat, and both seem to function properly. I have done a resistence check of...

No, the oil does not break down over the years of service. These units are made and sealed from the factory. The purpose is to make a unit that does not require repairs and will run for years. It appears that the TSTAT is not sending proper amperage through. My suggestion is to replace the unit as it costs more to repair then to replace.
Sorry for the bad news, but these units are just not meant for service, hence the price.

Need new thermostat for lakewood 7000

The manufacturer Selco makes numerous thermostats and are distrubuted by Allied Electrical. I have been in contact with both companies to get information about replacing my KSD31 16/125~ 160 thermostat. I can't find the exact one. I am trying to find out if a similar but not exact one can be substituted.

Need new electric cord for model 7000/a lakewood heater oil filled

Depending on handy you are, the power cords for heaters can be replaced, but may require soldering or other electrical and mechanical skills. You MUST replace the cord with one that has the same amperage and heat ratings.....that goes for the plug too.
