All I see is a blank blue screen on polaroid dvd player

You have put a dirty CD in and now the laser lenses is dirty and cant read the finer details of a DVD.It needs a clean.

If you have a disk that you know works, try it. Make sure the disk is not upside down.

Sounds like the mounting spindle is out of alignment, meaning the disks you load into the player are not spinning in a balanced, stable position. Without this being the case the laser pickup will not be able to read the disk and the unbalanced disk will cause a noisy hum and you may even be able to feel vibration in the player itself to confirm this. Sometimes the noise and vibration is a disks fault but if it occurs on any disk you insert (and can confirm the same disks work ok with no noise in other DVD players) it will be the players mounting mechanisim that is not playing the game properly I suspect.

That means the disk is corrupted. Please make sure that data is burnt properly to the disk.

Most probably the lens is durty. CD-DVD cleaning disk might help.

My portable dvd player turns on and the disk does not spins but the screen turn light blue and does not read the disk

When I try to play a DVD, operation seems normal, the unit makes a slight noise like the disk is rotating and "Loading" is displayed. Then after about 30 seconds the message "No Disk" is displayed. Then just the Polaroid screen is displayed. I have lost the remote control but surely the unit will play using the front panel buttons. One thing, only the remote is named as having a Setup Button in the manual but the unit has no such button.

you can go to wal-mart or any electronic store and get a laser eye cleaner for DVD - I recommend the Philips system, for under $15 you get the DVD laser eye cleaner and a disk cleaner with a micro fiber cloth it's a great deal just DO NOT use it in a laptop, laptop's take a different type but the disk cleaner is universal

i would say for some reason your dvd player is not compatible from now on with that brand of blank dvd!


get the firmware update from the brand website all you do is download the file burnit on a cd and put it in the dvd player should fix most and eventual problems
