I have a Maytag washer, once it is finished washing and spinning and stops running, water keeps dripping into the washer. Why? In a day or so it will almost fill up with water.

First turn the water off at the wall. You have a bad mixing valve.

Write down your model number and then do a google search for Maytag parts. I like Partselect.com and Repairclinic.com both are reputable sites.

Cut and paste this site for a good price on your water fill valve. It is leaking through when the cycle is off. You can easily replace it yourself.

After washer has stopped, it contunes to drip inside the tube

Hi,

Start the washer in a normal cycle, once it starts to fill, unplug the unit from the wall. If the water stops completely its not a water valve issue. If it still drips, replace the water valve to the washer. Good Luck

When the washer finishes the spin cycle and I open it up to remove the cloths, the water continues to drip into the drum. What do I need to do to repair this problem.

It sound's like the water inlet valve is stuck open, it's located at the back of the washer, the cold and hot water hose's connect to it, you may need to replace it with a new one to fix the drip.

Water won't stop running, won't advance or wash or spin cycle

CHECK THE TIMER AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIX IT. THAT IS USUALLY THE FIRST SIGN THAT YOUR WASHER DOESN'T WORK. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT COULD BE ANY NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT CHECK THE TIMER FIRST. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD TO REPLACE THE TIMER.

Cold water will not run into washer, but drips when washer is off

Take the hose off the back of the washer and remove the screen and you will find it to full of sediment. Clean it out and try again.

Cold water will not shut off at end of spin cycle

electriic inlet valve is obstructed, try removing cold water hose direct the hose into a bucket and fill the tub on the warm setting (flushing the cold valve) then try the washer again ..If that doesn't work a new valve is needed

When washer finishes there is a dripping of water inside unit

What has happened is you have sand in your water valve from your water. This pluggs the water valve and also sticks it open so when the water valve shuts of there is still a small trickle of water coming through the washer. Replace the water and it will fix the problem (no way of cleaning the inside of the valve.) Replace water valve.
