Does it spin without anything in it?

Does it agitate?

Does it pump out the water?

If you said Yes to all of these Im sorry to say this you probably burnt out the clutch.

If it doesnt agitate maybe you will be lucky and you only need a coupler.

If you over load it often and wash large items you probably burnt out the clutch. This is an expense repair. You may want to consider a new washer.

The spin cycle for my

Dear shelldon39, Fri 2-20-2009 9:24pm EST (USA)

Some machines will shut down during the spin cycle as a precaution to prevent damage!

They will do this if you overload the washer with clothes and/or use too much detergent!

If this doesn't help please get back to me with more details!

Clothes dryer doesn't spin

The way most domestic clothes dryers are made, it's usually hard to determine that the heating part works without the drum turning.

But, chances are, the drum belt is broken.

Please give the specific model number of your unit for a more complete response.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer won't spin clothes more dry than soggy

Tip the washer backward, inspect the bottom of the gearcase for oil. If oil is present, the oil has migrated to the clutch causing it to slip during spin. The gearcase and clutch will have to be replaced if oil is present. Check the owners manual for limited warranty on the gearcase. If oil is not present, the clutch is just worn and should be replaced.
