Wattage i have a hitachi projection tv model 50fx20b i need the resistor for RK42 which is 2.7 ohms i need to know the watts

yes the 2 watt resistor is actually better than the 1 watt. They will both work in place of each other. The important part are the ohms they have to be exactly the same.

if it a convergence IC problem it will be costly.

you need to replace the convergence ICs

RK62 is a 2.7 ohm 1 watt resistor for stock IC replacement. If you use the STK394-160 ICs then the resistor ratings will be different. Your Chassis is the DP23

3.3 ohm/ 1 watt / metal oxide. HIT p/n: AT03202S -- red hor. conv. -- from IC ik04 (STK392-110/150)

If it is 53uwx10B:

RK42 2.2 OHM 1 WATT
RK46 1.5 OHM 1 WATT
RK50 2.2 OHM 1 WATT
RK54 1.5 OHM 1 WATT
RK58 2.7 OHM 1 WATT
RK62 1.8 OHM 1 WATT


Double check the numbers on the STK chips as most of these sets use STK-392-110 OR 392-150 CHIPS-----ONLY A FEW OTHER MODELS(MOST 43 INCH USE THE 120 CHIP.)

RK50 & RK62 are both 3.3 ohm 1watt
RK58 is 3.9 ohm 1watt
They are all metal film (flameproof) 5% resistors

They have it, they just list it as a 1-4 watt resistor, just order two of the 1-4 watt resistors and they will send a order confirmation inquireing which rating you need for those two items within minutes of your order.

you need to replace both convergence ICs and the six 1 watt feed resistors. The ICs are both STK392-110 and the resistors you need one of each RK42 3.3 ohm 1watt, RK46 1.8 ohm 1watt, RK50 2.7 ohm 1watt, RK54 1.5 ohm 1watt, RK58 3.9 ohm 1watt and RK62 2.2 ohm 1 watt.

Check the resistors near the Ics especially the 3.9 ohm 1 watt resistors often one or two will be open then when you install the higher wattage Ics which run cooler you can actually wipe out all the convergence resistors which are 3.9 2.7 and 4.7 ohm 1 watt resistors

Hitachi has created a repair kit part# X480293 for this problem. It includes: (2)STK392-150 convergence ic's,resistors RK42 = 3.3 ohms,RK46 = 1.8 ohms,RK50 = 2.7 ohms,RK54 = 1.5 ohms,RK58 = 3.9 ohms,RK62 = 2.2 ohms,all 1 watt resistors.
