No traffic and weather showing-using GXM 30 smart antenna with subscription

I have the SDNX7100 and GXM-30 smart antenna. I have subscriptions to XM radio and the traffic and weather. The XM radio works great and I get stock info. After several refreshes, I still have no traffic and weather. Traffic says "none available" and weather says "waiting for XM subscription" Any ideas?

There has to be Traffic information published on an FM signal in your area (sounds like there isn't) AND you will have to subscribe to the Satellite Weather ... here's a link. http://www.xmwxweather.com/marine/data-service-pricing.html

I use the Sailor package at $29.99 a month.

The only idea i have is contacting xm asking if they can resend the traffic signal to your unit.

Cant get xm weather on garmin 740s

To receive XM weather or audio, the GPSMAP 740s requires a GXM 40 Smart Antenna with XM subscription.

The GXM 40 Smart Antenna (010-00730-00) is used to receive weather and audio service from XM satellite radio. For details on XM services please visit our XM webpage.

Once a GXM 40 Smart Antenna has been connected to the GPSMAP 640, the device can display the subscription information for the antenna.

From the Home Page in Boating mode:

  1. Select Configure
  2. Select System
  3. Select System Information
  4. Choose Weather Subscription

From the Home Page in Driving mode:

  1. Select Tools
  2. Select XM Services
  3. Select XM Radio
  4. Set the channel selector to channel 0
  5. Select Radio ID

The subscription information will now be displayed on the screen.

un plug the xm antenna and plug the radio antenna in by it self you should get radio signal

Magellan 3250
I'm almost positive that they never come traffic ready. My Magellan came in the mail today, and the box had the registration code/directions on activating the live traffic.

From magellangps.com:

To retrieve the Subscription Code you should use a 20 Digit Coupon Code which is found towards the bottom of the 8 X 11 sheet of paper included in the box of your GPS that is titled "Magellan TrafficKit Service Activation".
The Subscription Code can be retrieved by following the below mentioned Steps:
  1. In a browser window, navigate to www.magellangps.com
  2. Under the "Products" option select "Magellan Traffic Service".
  3. Under "Traffic Subscription Services" click "Redeem a Subscription Coupon" Note: You can Purchase/Renew Subscription if the free subscription has expired by Clicking "Purchase a Traffic Subscription/ Renew a Traffic Subscription"
  4. Select the product model from the list provided
  5. Type your Email Address & Password to login to the Magellan Note: If you dont have a user account, Select "Click here to create an account"
  6. Click the option "Select" corresponding to the correct Product Serial Number
  7. Click the "Yes" tab to confirm the Serial Number
  8. Enter the Coupon Code provided in the box and click "Retrieve Subscription Code"
  9. Write down the Subscription Code to use it in the GPS for activation

XM radio sounds like crap!!!
if the xm and gps antennas are close together this will happen. u will have to move one to the front and the other to the back of the vehicle.
