There is a reset hole somewhere on there that you could fit a paperclip in, click on that for 5 seconds and it will reset your device for you
scan the navigon drive to see if there are errors, using windows , just right click and click properties then click tools, it is in there, maybe thats the problem? if it has no errors, have you tried updating the device?

try going there and doing as they say
try taking the sd card out of the navigon and put it in a reader and scan it that way, as it might be the navigon itself which is stopping the pc from repairing it
what windows version are you using?

well one last thing to try is this
hold the power down for 6 seconds until in reboots next time you turn
it on. much like the way you turned it on for the first time.
holding it down for 6 seconds again will do hard reset and will erase whatever you had entered

well i am in the thinking that somehow you have managed to delete a file from the device. Did you ever backup the navigon, before all this happened? Have you tried retoring an old backup?
If not then i am afraid you have no option but to return it for them to fix, its either a coirrupt file or the flash disc has become damaged on the unit

I have pushed that button over and over again for 3 days and its the same message over and over. I don't know what else to do. I contacted the company and got no response. But i read others that contact them say they say just push the reset button.
I have tried updating and all it says is for it to be safe to download a downloader. I did that and nothing. I went to search and cant find it. When it first popped up it had the Navigon this for update. I clicked it and it did nothing then I went to the Navigon thing on the desk top and say back up and it just says prepare for an hour or so with no bars moving to show its working. I'm doing the scan now But it scans and doesn't tell me anything like if theres a problem or not. I already know the update isn't working and not sure with the scan because it doesn't tell me anything about it.

The link you gave me I have the Navigon fresh on my desk top but it just freezes and does nothing and thats the back up and updating settings. I guess it has to be the gps itself because I don't have a sd memory card in it.
Windows XP Im using. Right now the battery is dead so I have to charge it a little so I can do the other.

Well the back up and restore option is on the desktop. I didn't try to restore or back up b4 this happened. I did it after because of the problem. And trying to do it it doesn't work it says like preparing 40 mins to an hour by then I just quit.So I guess I will try to see what else I can do. Thanx anyways
