Running windows 7 printer wont print anything but installed ok

Have you connected both ends of the USB cable ?
Check if you have paused printing on the windows spooler ?
Check if the port is correctly configured on the control panel Install Printer using Windows 7

If the nozzle test doesn't print black, then no black ink is flowing.
Run a "head clean", and do the nozzle check again.

Can you make copies stand alone in black? If it will make a copy in stand alone then try unistalling the printer and reinstalling the driver.

You need to check the hardware functionality of printer first. Make a copy from printer and check if it prints fine. If hardware is okay. You can try following steps on computer.

1- On computer keyboard press Windows(flag) button and R at the same time
2- This will open a small Run window
3- Type devmgmt.msc in Run window and click OK
4- This will open Device Manager window.
5- Right click on psc 2410(2400) entry under "universal serial bus controller" and 'imaging device' and click delete/uninstall/remove. Printer's entry should disappear from there.
6- Disconnect usb cable from printer and computer
7- Wait for 50 seconds.
8- Connect the usb cable to printer and computer.
9- This should install the drivers automatically.

You need the correct drivers for the printer. Go to Dell's support page and download and install the Windows 7 driver.

Ok reinstall as Administrator, use "Compatibility mode" for install and the run .exe, also run software as Administrator. too. Often these devices, USB - Serial Ports are NO GOOD for a printer. Either install a real Serial Port. or get a new printer. Windows 7 will NOT help either, it doesn't like older equipment.

Most likely the printer driver on the CD is not compatible with Windows 7. Download the latest printer driver from Lexmark. Click on this link to their WEB site :-

Did you upgrade the computer from Windows XP to Windows 7? If so, did you uninstall the driver before you did the upgrade? The old driver files may be causing the problem.

Uninstall the Windows 7 drivers, disconnect the printer, download and install the drivers from Dell's support site and reconnect the printer.
