I got a lg cookie for christmas. i wanted a pin to stop people getting into it. then it says i need a puk code. i have email vodafone called them. they gave me a puk code i typed that in and it didnt work.

I Believe what you need is a PUK code for your mobile phone.

A PUK code is usually required when you have entered your pin code or lock code into your phone several times incorrectly, Thus locking your phone and then it asks for a PUK code.
The PUK code for your phone can be obtained from your mobile service provider, EG..... Vodafone.
So if Vodafone is your service provider ring Vodafone...etc.

They will provide you with the PUK code which you can enter into your phone via the keypad.

the puk or the pin unlock key is when you entered the wrong pin on the phone more than 3 times. To unlock it, you better call the customer service of your provider, which is vodafone, and ask for your puk. Accessing your puk is free. The vodafone site has an option to access the puk, just visit the vodafone site (example, if your from australia, vodafone.com.au then click on self service, then click on manage mobile settings online (including PUK), then click on learn more to activate your sim card using your PUK.
There are 3 ways to accessing your puk: the first is thru online: Register and/or login at My Vodafone. Once you've logged in, navigate to the My Vodafone menu (top of screen) and select 'My Phone Setup' then 'Settings Summary'. The PUK code is located under Mobile Information
second is thru email, on the contact us section provided on the site of vodafone
third is thru contacting vodafone.
once you have your PUK, enter the code on the phone, then you will be prompted to enter your chosen pin (4-8 characters) then re-enter your chosen pin then your phone should be working.
please take note that some motorolla and sagem phone require you to enter **05* before the PUK code.

the PUK code is nothing to do with your LG KP500 Cookie,
it is on the SIM Card, not the phone,

the PIN code has been entered wrong 3 times,

you need to call T-Mobile and ask them for a PUK code,

this code is also someties printed on the sim card packaging sticker.

or if you dont need that actual sim card, you can just get a new sim card to use.

PUK refers to Personal Unblocking Key. This is a Code which is offered only by Service Provider. There is NO charge. Call up Vodafone and ask for the same and they would be glad to offer that.

This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUK if PIN is blocked...

if you provide PUK code wrongly for 10 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM
