Left click will not work

I have found that the best way to adjust your mouse settings is to create a control panel in your bottom toolbar scroll to the bottom of your screen right click you will see an array of options select the toolbar option then select desktop then you will see the desktop in the bottom toolbar select the 2 >>arrow heads then all control panel items then select mouse this is in WINDOWS 7 then click on the >> all control panel items scroll to mouse in the buttons tab you will see the defaults left button right button and middle wheel click you might have to set the left click button again in XP you will have to select the new toolbar option once you have that a browse option select my computer then control panel then a control panel option will be in the bottom toolbar . Or disconnect the mouse from your computer restart.

My dell inspiron laptop's left click button isn't working as well as it use to, i think it maybe worn down, is there anyway i could get it replaced, and if so, where?

Simple solution with less cost is please use the external USB mouse.(Small size also avaible in market.) You are not mentioned the location where you are, Please locate the nearest Laptop service center for repair/replacement.
Try once with installing the Touch pad drivers.. .

My HP Optical mouse Left Mouse Button has stopped working. The RMB still performs its function (so batteries on mouse still OK etc). I have tried shfitng the USB port etc but nothing seems to fix the...

Similar problem which I resolved today.
I have a hp wireless mouse model no. 5189URF. I bought this in hp online in April 2009. It needs 2 x AA Alkaline batteries.
Steps I did to resolve.
1. Removed battery cover.
2. Removed batteries below which 2 screws exist.
3. Remove 2 screws and remove the top casing of mouse.
4. You can see 2 very small square push button corresponding to left and right clicks in mouse.
5. try to press the left button and make sure its free. The issue seem to be that this button becomes rusty internally and lost contact. Therefore clicks are not recognized. You may need to press it repeatedly and also with a slight thrust circumferentially.
6. You can test your mouse in WIndows Help & support option linked with HP hardware diagnostics tool.

Mouse left button click is highlighting several programs at once. Mouse assumed to be faulty and replaced, but problem persists

It seems that you have activated click lock. The best way to resolve it is you restore your computer
Restart the computer in safe mode
Log in as administrator
Restore the computer to a date when it was working fine
reboot in normal mode
this should resolve your issue

The mouse seems to be frozen, when you start the laptop up it is no longer possible to move the mouse. I have tried left click, drag and right click but nothing seems to work, including contal alt del.

Your touchpad may have stopped working either from it is damaged or somehow the driver/software was diabled or removed. You could try re-booting in safemode and see if the mouse can move to verify the touchpad is working. Also try using a usb mouse to see if you can move the indicator with that so you can try to re-install the drivers/software.

Touchpad has no tap, left key not working.

Hi there,
I had this issue and resolved it by doing the following:
-Open the start menu by using the windows button
-Use the arrow keys to highlight run and press enter
-Type 'control panel' and press enter, find the mouse properties and enter
-From the buttons tab in mouse properties, go to double click speed and change to slow and confirm the changes
-At this point it probably still wont work, so do the above again but change the double click settings to fast and confirm.
-Restart your PC and this should resolve the matter. you can alter the double click speed again if you wish :)

Hope this helps,
tbo

Can't use right click on mouse, etc

If you go to the control panel and click on the mouse you should be able to find a buttons tab and adjust what the right botton does.
Your email font size is found in the Tools, Options, Mail Format (Tab), and Fonts. (I am assuming you are using Outlook. Other programs should have it in a simalar place.
