Two things here. Is your cam corder a digital one? If so there should be a connector on it for either firewire or USB, and if not, you will need some kind of video capture device if your cam corder has outputs on it. If not, you will need a player (vhs-c or 8mm or whatever your format) that can send out to the computer. Once this connectivity is done, you need video capture software that will "encode" the video files that will be produced. If your cam corder is already data (hard drive onboard or SCD card recording, you will only have to "demux" the format you have into the format that you are seeking (ie.. MPG to AVI or so on).
I hope that helps you out.. let me know if you need more clarification. It also might help if you give the media you have (VHS-c etc.) and the available outputs that you see on your cam corder. Thanks!
most cam corders either have cables that come with it that will plug into your vcr or you will need a firewire connector ( if you post back with make and model of your cam corder ) you should be able to go from there.
The manuals should tell you how.
Generally speaking a firewire cable should allow you to do it.
I can't seem to find your model number anywhere. Are you sure that's right? Recheck and see if any of these manual numbers might be your model. If so, one of these manuals should provide all the info you need. http://camera.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/jvc/jvc_digital_camera_product_list.html
