Found water leaking from our maytag side by side model MSD2142ARW. Disconnected ice maker 4 weeks ago thinking it was that, and still leaking and has ruined my new laminate floors. Is the freezer gasket or something more?

Here is a tip that will tell you where the water is coming from and how to fix it. The drain hole has froze shut and the water from the defrost will not drain out.

you could have cloged drain,check for frozen water in the bottom of freezer or if coming from ice maker.

Possibly a bad valve but more likely not enough water coming to the unit,follow the water line from the back of the unit to where it hooks to the pipes there is usually a little saddle valve there,try closing it all the way and then open it back up check the water through the door and see if the pressure doesn't improve. 
 You can also remove the Ice maker clear out the fill tube and sit a cup under the end of it for a day or two if you get water in the cup and Ice in the tube you probably have a solenoid valve that isn't closing completely.

The solenoid valve that lets the water from the supply line when the ice maker calls for it is leaking ,it's located in the back of the fridge at the bottom behind the cover where the water line goes in.It's very easy to replace (before do anything remember to turn off the water).

The ice maker likely needs replacing.
But ceck it to make sure its not hung up.

Does it have ice frozen in it or is it just turning arround.

Remove it and see if the heater underneath has a hold burnt in it.

Its just a plug in unit you can order one online.

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.

Can you lower the ice maker temp on that model.
