If camera playback is fine on previously taken picture (when it was good) then camera has problem with CCD Imager Sensor and this part need to be replaced.

after installing the software that came in a cd along with your canon digicam...open that software...there will be IMAGE CAPTURE tab...when u click it ,the photos will be transfreed automatically from your cam to laptop
