The stand on my 7680 doesn't clip into the shaver for charging--I have to use a double rubber band to keep it from popping up and out of the shaver

The arm portion of the base can be replaced to fix this. part can be purchased at shaveroutlet.com

Testimonial: "I've just installed the arm portion of the base which I ordered from shaveroutlet.com as you suggested. It's tricky to replace, but it worked!"

After two weeks use of my new Remington R5130, now one of the three heads keeps popping off during almost during every shave. Any suggestions?

My R5130 kept falling apart when I shaved. I really like Remington Shavers (Spectrum Brands) and have had good luck with them until the R5130 model.

Two points.
1.) -THEY SHIPPED ME A NEW HEAD ASSEMBLY (BUT)- The original one I got had poorly formed plastics tabs on the blade retainer (head) I Googled Remington Shavers and used their Consumer Service tab to request a fix. They sent me a new head assembly free of charge and yes it worked much better. However, it eventually the heads started falling off again.

2.) RUBBER BAND FIXED IT - I looked it over again and thought that the range of movement and forces on the assembly pieces was just more than the design could handle so I looked for a way to contain some of the movement. I slipped a single thin (1/16"x1/8") - 2" diameter rubber band around the three head assembly and the problem has been completely eliminated. I can shave normally now. The rubber band nearly disappears under the black head flanges so it doesn't even look bad. The shave is a little firmer now but it still has most of the flexibility of the original design.

This simple fix will be a hard one for Remington (Spectrum Brands) to adopt but you might help spread the word. I am sure they will avoid this problem in the next models.

Top housing for the charging stand for a Braun Syncro 7680 Electric Shaver

I just experienced the same problem and came up with this solution. Use a spring clamp to keep the top of the charging stand in place. It works like a charm.

Braun Synchro 7680 - "Oil" message

Had the same problem on my shaver too. Bought this product:
http://www.onlineshavers.com/pd_braun_8000_activator_foil_cutter_pack31.cfm

(I know the link says foil cutter, but it takes you to Braun lubricating oil!)

I apply the lubricating oil to the foil etc, then the word "oil" disappears. Then after a while the word "oil" comes back and I apply the oil again and so on, my shaver still performs normally.

Hope this helps.

Part fell out of cleaner base

It's probably one of the support rubbers that holds the shaver in place, and keeps it from falling too low into the cleaner. It's probably broken, but maybe you could put it back in place. There are two of those rubbers in the cleaner on the side where the trimmer is faced. If they both are broken, the shaver will fall too low, and the electric contacts on the top will also not fit - no charging as a result. My Braun service rep. said that the whole cleaning unit will have to be replaced to fix this. My plan, however, is to try with some small screws before I throw the whole thing in the "broken parts basket"....

Charging stand

I just had the same problem, where the top of the charger would not stay down. I tried a spring clamp to keep it in place, and that works like a charm! Try it!
