My Magnavox 15'' LCD TV, serial number AU2A0641033002. I have called Direct TV, viewed the codes that have, programmed them in, and it not allow me to use common functions with the Direct TV remote. **The two problems are 1) DTV remote with NOT turn TV on or off and 2) DTV remote will NOT allow me to turn the volume up nor down. I went thru their HELP menu program and that is no help. I have had this problem for well over a year now. Please tell me if this can be done and how. Thank you and God Bless!!
My TV remote has a slide-switch at the side to switch between the TV, DVD or VCR. I don't know if yours has one, if so, switch it to TV. It also has a button to switch between Analogue, Digital and External, so make sure if you have a button like this that it's switched to the right input.

The problem is still the same. With the instructions for the DTV help desk and using on screen codes selected for this model, the DTV remote ONLY changeds the channels. I repeat, the DTV remote will NOT turn tv off or on and the volume can NOT be adjusted up or down with the DTV remote. Is there a solution for this problem??
