Sound Driver installation Failed

My laptop is Compaq Presario V3611AU Notbook with XP Home Edition SP2. For some reason I reinstalled My OS. Now when I try to install audio driver it gives error "Could not find MEDIA device for this driver."

I tried as your expert said me,

first I dwnloaded correct chipset drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_630a_winxp2k_14.10.html

and for the right audio drivers I went to following link and downloaded UUA and Conexant Audio Driver :-
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3180330&lang=en
But still Same problem occures. Please help me.

Do you have windows installer 3.1 or higher?

you can find it in the add remove programs.

or reseat your card.

run add hardware wizard

let the computer search for the right driver.

why dont you try to uninstall and reinstall the sound driver again and the sound and audio are in the classic view under the phone and modem icons

Driver installation

Deinstall SP3. Nothing works with it.
If you can't deinstall it, you'll have to reinstall Windows, I'm sorry.

for XP OS make sure you have a copy of all your driver software so that you can install it after you install you XP if you don't have iinstaller of your laptop you can download the driver HERE

Audio Driver Installation Failed.

First guess is you have the wrong driver but I am seeing others having this problem as well. Either that or you post to a ton of boards.

OK first correct chipset drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_630a_winxp2k_14.10.html

That would help audio drivers identify your audio card.

Next are the right audio drivers. The list includes other drivers you might need. Do not use the chipset or graphic drivers from this site as they are outdated.
