My inspiron 1545 when you start it up it has do you want to start windows normally and safe mode and safe mode networking and so on but when it comes to the desktop you get a blue screen with white writing and then it restarts. what should i do?

First try "Last konwn good configuration" if that doesn't work start in safe mode and do a system restore.

Are you able to get to the desktop in safe mode?
Repeatedly press F8 on startup and choose to boot to safe mode in the options window.

My dell inspiron 1545 laptop won't accept my password to login

  1. Reboot the computer
  2. Right after the bios is finished, hit F8 (or F2,10,12)
  3. Select ‘Safe mode’ or ‘Safe mode with networking support’
  4. Windows will boot up to the logon screen. Click administrator
  5. Do, Start->Run->type ‘command’
  6. To reset the password type ‘net user username *’ where username is the username you want to reset.
  7. For no password, leave blank.
  8. Now, reboot and you can login as that user.

Please press F8 several times during start up. When computer gives you few options of startup choose Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode go Start----->All Programs---->Accessories------>System Tools------>System Restore. When you get there choose last date when system was working properly and restore to this point. You will see windows advanced option. 3.by using the up and down key on the keyboard, please select safe mode with networking and hit enter. 4. now, you computer will be restarted in the safe mode. 5. please try to install sp2 here.

Try to boot it to last known configuration.
