I plugged it in and it started for a brief second and then shut back off

Take it back to seller. We;re on our third unit doing the same thing.

Here is a tip that explains what can be happening to make the dehumidifier showthat the bucket is full when it is not.

Unplug power cable,then take of front panel (2 screws).Then on left side on pipe se cliped sensor on pipe ,unclip then put in hot wather for 5 sec. Then put all back together and plug cable power and turn ON.That works on my Dehumidifier LG LD650EAL.

float swithch in water tank. if using hose check for plug between tank and hose allowing tank to fill up

it should be a float whitch..somewhere around that bucket....take a look, sounds like it stuck ..and tripping whole system

CHECK THE OVER FILL SWITCH IN THE VERY BOTTOM (ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK OF MACHINE) BEHIND THE CATCH BASIN

WILL THE MACHINE RUN IF YOU PUSH OR LIFT UP ON IT- PROBABLY CRUSTY AND IN NEED OF GOOD CLEANING

When you push the power button, the blower fan comes on. In a few minutes you should hear a second "click"--that is your compressor starting. Do you hear that second click?

The compressor is located in the rear bottom on the right side looking at the machine. After you press the start button and the blower fan comes on, bend over near the back of the unit and listen for the "click".

It needs the Cover removed and take to the Local Car wash and clear the Front and Back out get all the Junk off of it Use Engine Cleaner first let soak then High Rinse Bring Home let sit outside for A Couple of Hours reassemble and She should Run like New ttech
