VMware plans to deliver dual-OS smartphones in 2012(Mobile virtualization)

VMware, already known for its work in virtualizing desktop operating systems, wants to make that a reality by delivering “mobile computing devices” capable of running dual operating systems. According to Computerworld, VMware has plans to take the concept beyond the dual-boot solution available, instead relying on the ability to easily and rapidly switch between two systems loaded on one device. VMWare’s vision for its “Mobile Virtualization Platform” is to be able to check Facebook for personal use, load a call log or customer list for business use, and switch between screens featuring apps from two OS’s without having to power down and then boot up again.

It’s a concept similar to HTC Sense’s “scenes” feature that separates work/home life features, but VMware’s plans call for far more integration, security, and “unlimited application flexibility.”
Getting two OS’s onto one device and making them integrate seamlessly is an ambitious project, but is it really necessary? I love my Android phone and have a little jealousy when seeing iPhone apps not available for the platform, but I wonder how well these two systems would interact with each other.

So many Android apps have to deal with fragmentation - what works on a Droid may not work on a Hero or myTouch - so a virtualized smartphone would be quite impressive if VMware manages to get different OS’s to play nice with each other.

I ve a mac, how can I use Bernina software

Select and install virtualization software for your MacBook Pro. You can choose from several popular virtualization packages for the Mac, including Parallels Desktop for Mac, VirtualBox and VMware Fusion. VirtualBox is a free, open source software package, while Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion are commercial software products

Install Windows within your virtualization software. You much purchase a copy of the Windows operating system if you do not already own it; it does not come with the virtualization software. Most virtualization software includes a wizard, or assistant, to guide you through the Windows installation. Windows will now run in a "virtual machine" on your MacBook Pro.

Install your Bernina Artista Embroidery Software on your virtual Windows system. You install software into the Windows virtual machine the same way you do on a physical PC.

Plug the Bernina security dongle into a USB port on your MacBook Pro. The Windows virtual machine acknowledges the dongle, and may ask you if the USB dongle is to be used with the Mac or Windows system. The dongle is a hardware device that provides copy protection for the Bernina embroidery software.

Run the Bernina Artista Embroidery Software by choosing it from the Windows Start menu

i have installed virtual pc in windows vista. in virtual pc i ave installed windows xp. in virtual pc my usb ports are not working

Virtual PC for Windows does not support USB devices (other than a mouse and keyboard ... which are not actually emulated via USB, but are simply "used" through the host) ... but just to confirm the "official" statement of this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824511/en-us

Unfortunately, Microsoft did NOT add USB support in Virtual PC 2007 (a widely anticipated addition that simply didn't happen).

VMWare Server DOES support USB devices (through the host) with some exceptions. From the documentation: "... Modems and certain streaming data devices, such as speakers and Web cams, do not work properly." You may want to read the details of using USB devices with a VMWare virtual machine starting on page 232 here: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/server_vm_manual.pdf

You can download Virtual Server for free here (You'll need to register and request a free key ... a painless process): http://www.vmware.com/download/server/

VMware

Since you do not have a DVD, Vista is out, That leaves you with Windows XP (if you have it) or Linux/BSD. Your question does not give a lot of details, are you trying to install VMware Server or ESXi?
Both are free but there is a big difference, ESXi is a bare metal hypervisor and VMware Server is not. This means the ESXi does not need an operating system already installed but VMware Server does.
VMware has posted hardware that is compatible with ESXi but you should note that you really need at least 2 computer to run ESXi - one as the actual server and another to manage it. With VMware server you only need one machine and it is less sensitive to hardware but you have to have an operating system already installed on the machine, then load the VMware server and then create the virtual machine. What type of machine are you trying to create VMware supports practicaly all versiona of windows and linux. Can you detail what you have and what you have done so far to get the error message?

On vista i have vmware 6

Your Guest OS uses a Virtual VGA adaptor. As with a normal computer it needs drivers. This usually is installed through VMware Tools. (VMware tells your guest OS there are all kinds of virtual devices. They don't exist physically but need their drivers since VMware uses the virtual devices to handle the Host PCs physical devices.

In order to install VMware Tools, go to:
VM > Install VMWare Tools.

Remember that you need Administrator rights.

[Installing VMware Tools]

This should do the trick, let me know if this solved your problem.
