Putting ringtones on the phone is pretty easy, they have to be mp3 format, they have to be 198 kb or lower, go to your memory card, click on the ringtone, the next screen will show all your songs, click on your ringtones, move them to phone, paste under audio (should be the first option)Then back out of the screens, go to my stuff, click on audio, your ringtones should be there, click on one of them, in the upper right hand corner you will see a square with lines in it, click on it, it will give you the option to use as - Ringtone or Ringtone ID.

How to save ringtone download to the phone

Create a folder named 'ringtones' (without the quotes) in the root of your SD card, and copy the files (mp3, wma, ogg) you want to use as ringtones to that folder. Then, as usual, if you either edit the contact entry you want to set one of the newly copied ringtones to, or open the dialer's default ringtone settings, the files you copied should appear in the selection list.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further, since it would also work if you copied those files directly to the internal '/system/media/audio/ringtones' directory, but it would mean you would have to mount the '/system' directory as a read-write drive, and set write permissions to those directories beforehand. Such operations are far more complicated than the SD card solution, but I could explain them to you, if you really want.
Best regards, Carlos

How do i add downloaded ringtones to the menu so that i can select them when setting the ring tone for an individual. right now the menu only gives me the canned ringt ones

You will need to access your phone as an external storage device and save your ringtones onto the SD card.

Plug your phone into your computer with the USB cable. On your phone, pull the notification screen down and select USB connected. Select "Mount". Your computer will now recognize your phone.

Go to your SD card and you will need to create a directory titled Media. Inside this directory, create another directory title Audio. Within this directory, create one final directory titled Ringtones.

Place any supported sound files in that final directory and they will appear in your ringtones list.

You can also create an Alarms directory, and use any supported sound files as alarms for your phone.

Remember to pull the notification screen to turn off the usb storage.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Lg Shine Flip Ringtones

-Make sure the file is appropriate.. 30 seconds or less, mp3 format
-When you add your music to the memory card, it shows up as a song but not as a ringtone right?

The solution is to create a different folder rather than using the “Music” folder the phoneautomatically creates for you. Transfer your music to this new folder you’ve created. The ringtones should show up as long as it fits the requirements

Hope this helps

Lg shine - downloading music from my laptop

If you want to put music files from your laptop onto your LG Shine, you can either use a LG USB cable or a Micro SD Card. The Micro SD card will probably need an additional adapter to have it big enough for your Laptop or PC slot. Once the music files are on the Micro SD card, insert the card into your LG Shine and go to My Stuff". Then, select "Audio and ringtones" and select the file on your memory card. Press the "Options" button and select the copy function and paste it into your phone.

Cannot download ringtones from internet

There is probably a routing problem on your account..thats why it wouldn't let you download. Yes you can change music to ringtones. They need to be less than 20 seconds or it will recognize it as music instead of ringtones. Any audio editing software will do. I use wavepad 4 just because I already had the pro version. You can search "wavepad" on yahoo and the first one will let you download a trial. All the features are availiable and when the trial runs out...delete and download again. Just save the file as an MP3 and then transfer to your micro sd.

LG Env Phone and Ringtones

I can Help. First of all, dont pay a cent to verizon, i have had issues with them for a while about overcharges. Anyway...

Download a program called " Bitpim " Its free, or " ImTOO3gp " i got IMToo3gp from " the pirate Bay . com, using a bit torrent, the bitpim is from a site that downloads straight to P.C.

Hook your phone to your P.C. Via Cable. What i did is i bought the verizon package for there VCAST music sync. It has the P.C. Drivers for your phone but there built into the program so you have to install it, but dont actually use the program. once thats installed, hook the phone to the P.C. and you can use Bitpim to download all the data from your phone, the " ImToo3gpp also works but instead of hooking the phone, you take your Micro SD, put it in the bigger holder that should have come with it, get a USB media port that fits the SD card 9 got mine at wallmart for $13. once you connect it, it shows up as another drive on your P.C. like a Pin drive. Then you can covert the music and put the destination folder as the SD's music folder and the program automatically converts it. It pretty sweet and helpull. i was able to drop MP3's and i was able to make ringtones. You have to have a little working knowledge of converting files. The ringtones use MPEG 3 or 4 files and you have to put them in your " MY_SOUNDS" folder that the phone created on the Micro SD, dont drop them in the music folder or youll get ringtones playing in your songs list.

I was able to Make 3gpp2 Files of the ventuire brothers and have movies on my phone also but its tricky.

Hope this helps.
