projection tvs can display white dots from the dust that is on the reflector mirror your lamp shines the picture on before it is reflected onto the front screen of your tv, one must be very careful when cleaning this, may be worth a service man doing it for you

Hi.

Basically the white dot is a dead pixel, this is common with LCD screens. You have nothing much to worry about unless the screen develops more dead pixels which could lead to a screen replacement although its highly unlikely.

I went through the same problem with mine started out as one ended with many Its the optical lamp board cost is $600 and some dollars for a model 73-733

Blue dots apper on screen whenever i refresh computer and they remain there on screen

You don't say if it's a lcd or a laptop monitor. Either way it's a bad lcd if laptop or monitor if desktop. The only other thng is video card overheating due to overclocking or dust.

White dot on my samsung DLP 42" screen

Hi,
white dot is from a failure in the dlp chip. it controls 1000s of tiny mirrors which help make up your pix, when the mirrors get stuck a white dot appears. over time more will pop up. Probably in the $300-$500 range to have someone repair.

sound like you have a bad dlp chip. this happens to a lot of samsung dlp tvs. some of the mirrors are stuck. they can appear as black dots or white dots and it usually gets worse over time.

Are the dots very small for example the size of one pixel...
If so then what has happened is the white dots are in fact stuck DLP mirrors (most likely)
The DLP engine will need to be replaced.
Stuck DLP pixels/mirrors always show up as white dots.

Yes. It required to change a new DMD to fix the white dot. Follow the step by step post to replace it.
