Yamaha receiver will not turn on. just a clicking

You will find it has a power amplifier issue. Take it to an authorised Yamaha repair centre.

It sounds like the output ic and or transistors have blown and need replacing. Did you short the speakers or cables?

sounds like one of you amp IC's might be bad. When you use the button combo, it is probably turning on, detecting a short, and shutting off immediately.

Sounds like a relay (there to keep the unit from getting "fried" when there is a malfunction). You need to check that out to get started....

If it clicks twice almost instantly (on then off within 1/2second) then its got a serious power supply imbalance.

If it clicks on then 5secs later clicks off then one of the amplifier channels has probably failed and the protection circuit is tripping it off to protect itself.

either way its a repair shop job I'm afraid

check for low regulated voltages right before it turns off . Then replace the regulator with the weak, low voltage output. It could have something else wrong with it but you can start there.

My stereo receiver aiwa MX-NH2000 can not turn on. It has standby.

Is the receiver still under warranty? If so, do a warranty claim and ship it to Yamaha. Sounds like his service dept. isn't all it is advertised! If it isn't under warranty, go to Yamaha's web site and find out who they would reccomend as thier "goto" repair center. Even if it isn't under warranty the factory will still refurb the unit for a fee.
