I have connected my Belkin wireless adapter to my laptop computer and where can I get the Network key?

The network key will be dependent on the settings of the router providing you with the wireless signal, not the adapter receiving it.

Wireless connection to belkin g router model no. f5d7230-4

You need to access the setup page of the router using connected computer.

In your browser's address bar, type 192.168.2.1.

By default, leave the password blank.

On the Belkin setup page, go to Wireless.

Take note of the SSID. This is the name of your wireless connection.

Then go to Security under Wireless. Copy the network key.

On your friend's laptop, view the available wireless networks, you should see the SSID, then just enter the network key.

I hope this helps!

How do i secure my belikn from outsiders using it

Hi Friend,
U need to make your wireless network a security enabled network & don't share the wireless network key to a unreliable person.

Steps to create a security enabled wireless network:-

1> login to router setup page;bydefault ip address of belkin router is 192.168.0.1/192.168.2.1
2> Open a internet browser on a hardwired desktop/laptop connected to your router, clear the address bar completely and then type 192.168.0.1 or, 192.168.2.1<it depends on your model no of your router>
3> Go to Wireless Tab,changed the wireless network name(SSID)
4> Change the wireless network key as well;it will be good if you use WEP key if you old XP computer, otherwise use WPA-TKIP if you vista/win7 computers
5> Lastly on your computers, you have to seach wireless network name & give the wireless network key(for the very first time)

In case of any clarity feel free to contact belkin tech support

Need network key for belkin g+ router 802.11g

if you own the router and you don't know the network key or forgot it.
you need to reset your router, please check the intructions that came with it. if you haven't change the admin password (which is by deafult blank) go into the admin page and change or delete the network password doing something similar to this
if you don't have or can't remember the admin password you need to restore the router to defaults to reconfigure it

if you don't own the router and don't know the network key you need to ask the router owner for the key or use a program to hack into the router signal and attempt to figure the key out. (not recommended as it is ilegal)

Network key for belkin router

are you referring to the Encryption key - the WEP key?  You need to get that from the person who takes care of the router.  If YOU are the person who administers the router, then you need to reset it to the default factory settings.

I need my network key to add a new computer. I went to the belkin 192.168.2.1 page but which code is my network key please?

Hello...if you have logged into your router, you can find your network key by going to Wireless > Security on the menu.
If using WPA encryption, your network key is on this page: it will be labelled Pre-Shared Key or PSK according to the manual I have. Hope this helps.

(For info: the network key may also be known as the passphrase, WPA shared key, WEP key, WPA-PSK, authentication key, or security key).
