Doesn't recognize when headphones are plugged in

I know the headphones work for a fact because they work in other things. but when i plug them in the computer it doesn't do anything and the sound just comes out of the speaker. i have to then leave them plugged in and restart the computer for them to work. it gets annoying. any suggestions? thanks.

I tried to plug headphones into the tablet, but it didn't recognize that there were headphones. What is going on?

Have you tried simply rebooting your tablet, you may just have something corrupt in memory and a reboot should resolve that.

Headphone jack doesn't work

It could be there is dust in your jack. Cut down a Q-Tip and stick it in. If that doesn't fix it, it could possible be the jack has gone out. There are USB sound cards that would provide a jack.

Phillips headphones SHP1900 doesn't work

You should just have to replace the connector that you use to plug into the device...probably an 1/8th inch male stereo plug. You can pick this up at a radio shack. Make sure to plug the headphones into another device first to make sure it is the headphones.

No sound at all when headphones are plugged in

Hi, I apologize in advance for not offering a solution. Have just trolled through the handbook (on-line) for anything that might offer a clue. It takes both high and low impedance units so that's cool. They say to use the phones to assist with speaker issues and there's nothing to suggest that any of the settings affect them. Depending on the impedance the volume levels can change a fair bit so I guess you've cranked it up to check. The fact that they turn off the speakers doesn't add a lot, it can often be a simple mechanical switch in the socket when the plug is inserted. Does the 'speaker off' indicator come on when you plug them in. The only other things I'd suggest is both try another set of phones regardless and the other is reset all the sound settings to factory and see if that has any affect. Else you likely have an issue with the phone interface circuitry.

The right headphone on my sennheiser eh 150 doesn't work, Iv'e opened up the headphone and both the cables are securely held in place so its not the speaker, the cable is also fine no sign of any damage,...

I have the same problem, but in my case, I pulled accidentally the cable when it was plugged, but I can't neither see any damage in the cable, plug or headphone; in fact, it looks very strong. I did the same, opened the headphone, but everything's in its place. I've been browsing for two days and can't find any article related to this problem. It would be a shame to have to get rid of these headphones, they sound great!

No sound in my palm centro

I had the same problem, you probably were using headphones with it and the phone still thinks they are pluggeg in you can bring it to the store or plug the head phones back in give the phone a second to recognize what is plugged in and then remove the headphones slowly. if that doesnt work throw it into traffic.
