DO YOU KNOW THE MODEL OF THE PREDASESSOR TO THE LOGITECH V500 THAT ALSO HAS NO WHEEL BUT ONLY 2 WAY SCROLLING AS OPPOSED TO 4 WAY LIKE THE V500

yes, i did the same thing.
go to logitech's site, buy.logitech.com and go to 'support'. enter the product model, if you don't know, it is labeled on the bottom or inside the battery case. a replacement dongle for mine, the V500, cost $10 plus $6 in shipping.

$10 on logitech's website, search by going to support, then v500.
i need the same thing, damaged the old one.

this means problam in scrool wheel open the mouse and clean the wheel that does it

change the battery

If it's a scroll wheel spring, of which there are 2, I had the same issue today. Got them back were they belong now, Enclosed 2 pictures of how they go, I assume these will be the same as yours.
This one, at the left side, makes the wheel "step" as you scroll it.

This one, at the right side, gives the wheel resistance, so it is not constantly "mid-clicking" as you try to scroll up or down. I believe this is the most likely one that is most likely to fall out if you were cleaning the wheel...

Check that scroll lock is off
also try reinstalling the logitech software incase some setting is wrong, or you could go over all your settings in the logitech program to see what could be causing it.

Check the scroll is strucked or not. And then open and see scroll is properly placed.
