If you turn it off and then turn it on it should work. If it so frozen that you can't turn it off, Then unplug it from the power source the so it has to turn off. Then wait an hour or so and then turn it on. Kinda like rebooting a coumputer

I too have a Navigon and suggest you go to their website, probably Navagon.com. They can sell you a battery. If not, go to Amazon.com and key in Navagon.
You probably are just in a bad location where satellites are not reachable. All these units work from the same satellites and recieve them the same so it wouldn't matter what brand you have. I highly doubt that the powerlines and cell towers are effecting the transmission.
