I just got a Jensen NVX235W Touch & Go portable car navigator and cannot find how to update the maps on this unit. The maps are from 2006 and I know there must be a way to update them to more current information.

You can contact Ferro Works and they will send you a new CD with maps on it. They were not very clear on how updated the Version is. I called them and had a commitment of a new CD to be sent to me within fifteen minutes of dialing.

The manual is on a disk that came with the unit. It is available for purchase from Audiovox (1 800-645-3725). The part number is 1221047. The cost is $7.50 + $6.50 shipping.

I have had the same problem in the past. I learned to check for support on anything before buying. If possible, try a Magellan. Excellent support site. Jensen, Uniden Maptraxx do not. Some are updateable, but only with their own software and it usually costs a bit.
